How T You Get Pokemon Crystal For The Ipod Touch

Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner

Alfred Emanuel Smith, Jr., born December 30, 1873 in New York and died October 4, 1944, was an American Democratic politician, four times Governor of the State of New York and presidential candidate in 1928 (election won by Herbert Hoover). We still speak of him at least once a year at the charity dinner organized by the foundation that bears his name to Catholic charities.

We still speak over dinner this presidential election years, because tradition dictates that since 1960 the leading candidates to take a short speech. Sometimes candidates are not invited, which was the case for Bill Clinton (apparently Following one of its positions which did not please the church about a law on abortion), but this year the day after their last debate and two weeks before the day J. .. Finally, there is said to D, John McCain and Barack Obama were there.

And the writers were not on strike, fortunately for them. Their authors were able concter their heartfelt speeches, full of pikes tapping their own campaign and their opponent. A pretty impressive performance, it must be said. Judge for yourself ...

John McCain is starting ...

Then it's time for Barack Obama.

Amazing, no? Note that John McCain is still pretty much at ease this year that Barack Obama, even if the Democratic candidate's speech contained a good deal of very good replicas. I love the " Al Smith was very nice, from what I have said Senator McCain, who has known " and the wink to Sarah Palin with no sight of the door the Russian Tea Room ...

For fun here is still much less. In the colder it gets.

Cani Play Pokemon Silver Version

Abbau

Sunday evening, 23h, it was the end of the 163rd Stuttgart Beer . The official end. In practice, they were already beginning to 22:30 to store and remove. But we will still consider that on Sunday evening 23h was H 0. And look a little webcam that gives an overview of Wasen, to see how fast our German friends fairground rides dismantled their ...

H a few people hang out a bit, we swept in the aisles ...

H +2, trucks and cranes are entering .

3 H, disassembly begins in the not so cold October night .

H +11, the sun came out but the freefall tower and the Star Flyer (left) disappeared. And there is not much about the Ferris wheel.

H +20, the Ferris wheel has disappeared. The Wilde Maus (the big dipper bottom right) too.

Then it's less funny and disassembly slows dramatically for the rest. If you look tonight, we see this:

H + much, put away inside the tents.

In fact for a more general idea of assembly and disassembly, it happens like this: for large tents, it starts mid-July (to be ready by end September), the rides arrive between September and the beginning week before the party following their other summer, the dismantling of the rides is completed in three days, the tents lasts a month and a half. I was asked long ago where we put the tents the rest of the year, I recently found the answer in an old edition of the Volksfest magazine: they spend the winter, spring and early summer in warehouses in the region, with all the equipment that will with (including tables, benches, and approximately 20,000 pints of beer used in each tent).

About Volskfest, I have a funny story (well in my opinion) on what one has the right to sell or not. Including things to eat. You think you can bring your sand and sell what you want? No! Everything is regulated. For example we have no right to sell mulled wine. Except as this year's Oktoberfest in Munich because of particularly low temperatures (it did not exceed 8 degrees ...), ice-cream sellers were allowed to sell expcetionnellement mulled wine. but just the ice-cream sellers. And only the second week. And just because it was cold. Oh no, so we do not mess with that.

I had always wondered what value the numbers of visitors indicated by the organizers of these celebrations. In Stuttgart they give after the opening weekend, a midterm the following weekend, and a total figure and the final Friday before (!) The end of the party. Last year it gave 1 million, 2 million, 4.5 million fantatsique absolute record we are super happy . This year, it gave 900 000, 2 million, 4 million we are super excited to get to 4 million because we had some visitors in its first week due to bad weather . Brief with the same "number" mid-term, one arrives at inquisitive differences at the end. In passing this year they talked about 900,000 visitors the first weekend, not much of the second due to bad weather and a million the last because he was super nice, and having seen it with my own eyes I can ensure that there were more people the second weekend ... Finally whatever ... But I am disturbed, sic he figures correspond to anything (we doubt that these are broad estimates, but they could at least have a vague connection with reality), why get results down 500 000 people? Leaves to make communication, is to tell you the best, no?

I let you think about all this watching, siv e wish, the second part of the fireworks of the closing of the Stuttgart Beer 2008. I like the passage Aerosmith Dream On.

Although I wish Viva Colonia . It would have been pleased suitable anyway.

Orchesterstreik

Cuckoo

Saturday evening I was at the Stuttgart Ballet to see a new adaptation of Hamlet , played here since the beginning of the month. The opportunity to meet my friends and Jason Alexis and many others. But I'm not here to talk about themselves, but of the orchestra. Because a ballet done well it goes with a real orchestra, and here things are done well ... Except that orchestras in Germany were on strike that day. In 90 operas in Germany, the musicians protested.

Why? Because we want to change the way they are paid by decoupling their wage agreements of those officials, and it does not please them. I do not know the details, but imagine the problem.

Hamlet et Ophélia is admired here as Hamlet
Jason Reilly and Alicia Amatriain (which I do not know yet) Ophelia

What was funny was how the strike. Because a musician on strike, it does not allow himself to cancel an opera or ballet. It is seen especially at intermission: it wears a fluorescent yellow jacket with "strike" written on it (well they say here Streik but the idea is the same), it distributes leaflets to spectators and ... and it does not return to play at the end of the pause of half an hour. When people returned to the room, they announced that because of the strike, the pause was extended by half an hour. One hour in total, which is quite long for an intermission, but short enough for a strike, it must be said. Especially after the musicians came back and played all throughout and very well as usual, and thankfully because the second act was my favorite, with a first party scene that was reminiscent of West Side Story and a nice fight choreography ( between Alexis and Jason, well, actually) but that did not end very well.

short, a ballet, a strike, and a trip to the Volksfest eating chocolate fruit ... c'éait a nice evening.

2001, An Index Odyssey

Cuckoo

Today we will talk about Google. For lots of different reasons. And we start with something funny. As it is 2008 and that Google turns 10, they offer us to reuse their search service on the web (well its index, to be exact) almost as ... 2001. Yes I know it is not ten years but it does not matter, apparently they were not proposing damn better. And good in fact it is not quite as in 2001 either, but it is not far away, so it's pretty funny. It happens here fun and can see that at the time, there was no YouTube, Skyblog or even iPod. But I was already there, and even, I promised .

always Google, but talk about politics, or society, I do not know. In November, there are elections in the United States, you may have vaguely heard of. Californians, as they are lucky, will have one vote and more particularly: a referendum to ban gay marriage, recently approved by the Supreme Court of poultry ... not the state. This is a referendum trap, because if we vote "yes" we are against gay marriage and if we vote "no" it is for. To help the poor Californians to get out and strongly encourage them to vote no to the proposal (which has a number: 8 ), there is a vast campaign has set up. Sustained campaign include Steven Spielberg not (again.) or Ellen DeGeneres, who will not make the toaster she recently had a wedding gift.

And Google, you say? And although Google also support the campaign for not. This is the cofounder of the little box that indicated the on the official blog of his company. What is somewhat curious, do we imagine EDF and Dassault Systems to take a position on the legalization of gay marriage in France? Not ... Apparently, California is not France.

Google yet, because I know you like that! You may know that a Google search can be restricted to a certain type of documents. For example, for not looking for "visualization" in PDF documents, you can write " filetype: pdf visualization. What is funny and also quite curious is that you can do a search "filetype" without specifying a keyword ... It's pretty fun with filetpye: html . Note that Google manages the feat of returning a number of results left I do not know where, and even better, order the results returned. By what standard? Note fun with the first page returned is always a link to a classic Anglo-Saxon vieu available on Google Books (but not always the same old classic, it changes according to I do not know what).

I'll let you explore it all and wish you a very happy celebration of German unity, because I know you celebrate German unity.
