Letter Of Encouragement Catholic Spirtual

eight

Cuckoo

Go, stop laughing (or marry to gays in California), we'll talk about rollercoasters and even eight major German.

You will recall from Eurostar, the great thing to be wandering around the fairgrounds Germans. It happens that terrible news last summer, Eurostar has been sold to a park near Moscow and called Groky Park. Why terrible news? Because a large eight sets tends to be less spoiled a great Hiot traveling, and Eurostar will probably rust fast enough on the banks of the Moskva River (I think it's the Moscow River that we see behind the beast).

Well, this sale has implications for Eurostar, I tend to dramatize a bit, I admit. What are the consequences for the German festivals that interest me more. There were three major traveling coaster in Germany, Olympia Looping, Eurostar, and Alpina Bahn (you can optionally add Höllenblitz, but not really either). Is missing now. That's why one October to the Volksfest in Stuttgart, there was no trick giant Alpina Bahn Olympia Looping were both in Munich, and it will be like this every year now . Except that it makes a loss Stuttgart, it will obviously be filled. What will be done next year, phew! Because of brave German showmen anonymous bought a great little thing called Laser in a U.S. fleet. Two loops, a term otherwise pretty basic, but it has some speed anyway. Ironically, it's a roller coaster that began his career in 1981 in Germany and will return. Full details of the exclusive Europe 1 after the pub. (Insert your advertisement here) All the details here .

That was then this is new stuff for transportable. A departure, arrival, and frankly, you lose the changes ... But hey.

There are more interesting attractions in the area of fixed, those designed for amusement parks. Three parks in Germany are preparing new for 2009, and one that makes the most about her is that of Europa Park . An investment of 30 million euros for a powered coaster over 1000m long, starting with a scenic route in the dark on the topic of fire and ice, then 4 inversions (a looping, two tires plugs and twist). And a new neighborhood, not yet announced officially but everyone knows it will be Iceland. 30 million euros is a lot, and it leaves hope for a nice outcome, since the price of a good roller coaster is often only about 10 to 15 million euros, it is not bad for a leash decorating ... 10 million euros in fake rocks and plantations, there's plenty to do.

Bientôt à Europa Park
I leave you with this beautiful panoramic very recent construction of Europa Park (more photos here ) and you said soon for new adventures. Oh yeah I almost forgot. Black Desire returns with two new songs on the Net. Which makes me wonder ... the return of Black Desire Obama is the effect you think?

How To Adjust Velocity On Autococker Trilogy

Hello, I'm No One Prop. 8

Cuckoo

Tomorrow we will vote in California in the Arizona and Florida . Three referenda to be voted "yes" is to enter into the state constitution a ban on marriage for same-sex couples, and even a Florida ban on the creation of status equivalent to marriage for these couples (not civil union can be either).

the way, knowing that gay marriage is already banned by law in Florida, know they do a referendum to change the constitution to ban it "even more" really gives a great image of tolerant people who live there.

Like any campaign, and even as any American campaign, the one on "Proposition 8" in the name of the text submitted to referendum in California, gave rise to a lot of television ads from supporters of the ban and their opponents. I post here two of the series, which parodied well-known commercials for a major brand electronic products shining expensive but then we buy them anyway.

it was the first. And in the same genre, another version ...

And that's it for tonight. We will see in a few tens of hours what will happen to all that, and then as another vote is held in the same country at the same time, we'll know more will be the next ruler of the world, yay!

(And I'll try to talk a little roller coaster for a change.)

How T You Get Pokemon Crystal For The Ipod Touch

Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner

Alfred Emanuel Smith, Jr., born December 30, 1873 in New York and died October 4, 1944, was an American Democratic politician, four times Governor of the State of New York and presidential candidate in 1928 (election won by Herbert Hoover). We still speak of him at least once a year at the charity dinner organized by the foundation that bears his name to Catholic charities.

We still speak over dinner this presidential election years, because tradition dictates that since 1960 the leading candidates to take a short speech. Sometimes candidates are not invited, which was the case for Bill Clinton (apparently Following one of its positions which did not please the church about a law on abortion), but this year the day after their last debate and two weeks before the day J. .. Finally, there is said to D, John McCain and Barack Obama were there.

And the writers were not on strike, fortunately for them. Their authors were able concter their heartfelt speeches, full of pikes tapping their own campaign and their opponent. A pretty impressive performance, it must be said. Judge for yourself ...

John McCain is starting ...

Then it's time for Barack Obama.

Amazing, no? Note that John McCain is still pretty much at ease this year that Barack Obama, even if the Democratic candidate's speech contained a good deal of very good replicas. I love the " Al Smith was very nice, from what I have said Senator McCain, who has known " and the wink to Sarah Palin with no sight of the door the Russian Tea Room ...

For fun here is still much less. In the colder it gets.

Cani Play Pokemon Silver Version

Abbau

Sunday evening, 23h, it was the end of the 163rd Stuttgart Beer . The official end. In practice, they were already beginning to 22:30 to store and remove. But we will still consider that on Sunday evening 23h was H 0. And look a little webcam that gives an overview of Wasen, to see how fast our German friends fairground rides dismantled their ...

H a few people hang out a bit, we swept in the aisles ...

H +2, trucks and cranes are entering .

3 H, disassembly begins in the not so cold October night .

H +11, the sun came out but the freefall tower and the Star Flyer (left) disappeared. And there is not much about the Ferris wheel.

H +20, the Ferris wheel has disappeared. The Wilde Maus (the big dipper bottom right) too.

Then it's less funny and disassembly slows dramatically for the rest. If you look tonight, we see this:

H + much, put away inside the tents.

In fact for a more general idea of assembly and disassembly, it happens like this: for large tents, it starts mid-July (to be ready by end September), the rides arrive between September and the beginning week before the party following their other summer, the dismantling of the rides is completed in three days, the tents lasts a month and a half. I was asked long ago where we put the tents the rest of the year, I recently found the answer in an old edition of the Volksfest magazine: they spend the winter, spring and early summer in warehouses in the region, with all the equipment that will with (including tables, benches, and approximately 20,000 pints of beer used in each tent).

About Volskfest, I have a funny story (well in my opinion) on what one has the right to sell or not. Including things to eat. You think you can bring your sand and sell what you want? No! Everything is regulated. For example we have no right to sell mulled wine. Except as this year's Oktoberfest in Munich because of particularly low temperatures (it did not exceed 8 degrees ...), ice-cream sellers were allowed to sell expcetionnellement mulled wine. but just the ice-cream sellers. And only the second week. And just because it was cold. Oh no, so we do not mess with that.

I had always wondered what value the numbers of visitors indicated by the organizers of these celebrations. In Stuttgart they give after the opening weekend, a midterm the following weekend, and a total figure and the final Friday before (!) The end of the party. Last year it gave 1 million, 2 million, 4.5 million fantatsique absolute record we are super happy . This year, it gave 900 000, 2 million, 4 million we are super excited to get to 4 million because we had some visitors in its first week due to bad weather . Brief with the same "number" mid-term, one arrives at inquisitive differences at the end. In passing this year they talked about 900,000 visitors the first weekend, not much of the second due to bad weather and a million the last because he was super nice, and having seen it with my own eyes I can ensure that there were more people the second weekend ... Finally whatever ... But I am disturbed, sic he figures correspond to anything (we doubt that these are broad estimates, but they could at least have a vague connection with reality), why get results down 500 000 people? Leaves to make communication, is to tell you the best, no?

I let you think about all this watching, siv e wish, the second part of the fireworks of the closing of the Stuttgart Beer 2008. I like the passage Aerosmith Dream On.

Although I wish Viva Colonia . It would have been pleased suitable anyway.

Orchesterstreik

Cuckoo

Saturday evening I was at the Stuttgart Ballet to see a new adaptation of Hamlet , played here since the beginning of the month. The opportunity to meet my friends and Jason Alexis and many others. But I'm not here to talk about themselves, but of the orchestra. Because a ballet done well it goes with a real orchestra, and here things are done well ... Except that orchestras in Germany were on strike that day. In 90 operas in Germany, the musicians protested.

Why? Because we want to change the way they are paid by decoupling their wage agreements of those officials, and it does not please them. I do not know the details, but imagine the problem.

Hamlet et Ophélia is admired here as Hamlet
Jason Reilly and Alicia Amatriain (which I do not know yet) Ophelia

What was funny was how the strike. Because a musician on strike, it does not allow himself to cancel an opera or ballet. It is seen especially at intermission: it wears a fluorescent yellow jacket with "strike" written on it (well they say here Streik but the idea is the same), it distributes leaflets to spectators and ... and it does not return to play at the end of the pause of half an hour. When people returned to the room, they announced that because of the strike, the pause was extended by half an hour. One hour in total, which is quite long for an intermission, but short enough for a strike, it must be said. Especially after the musicians came back and played all throughout and very well as usual, and thankfully because the second act was my favorite, with a first party scene that was reminiscent of West Side Story and a nice fight choreography ( between Alexis and Jason, well, actually) but that did not end very well.

short, a ballet, a strike, and a trip to the Volksfest eating chocolate fruit ... c'éait a nice evening.

Buy Naseptin Nose Cream

2001, An Index Odyssey

Cuckoo

Today we will talk about Google. For lots of different reasons. And we start with something funny. As it is 2008 and that Google turns 10, they offer us to reuse their search service on the web (well its index, to be exact) almost as ... 2001. Yes I know it is not ten years but it does not matter, apparently they were not proposing damn better. And good in fact it is not quite as in 2001 either, but it is not far away, so it's pretty funny. It happens here fun and can see that at the time, there was no YouTube, Skyblog or even iPod. But I was already there, and even, I promised .

always Google, but talk about politics, or society, I do not know. In November, there are elections in the United States, you may have vaguely heard of. Californians, as they are lucky, will have one vote and more particularly: a referendum to ban gay marriage, recently approved by the Supreme Court of poultry ... not the state. This is a referendum trap, because if we vote "yes" we are against gay marriage and if we vote "no" it is for. To help the poor Californians to get out and strongly encourage them to vote no to the proposal (which has a number: 8 ), there is a vast campaign has set up. Sustained campaign include Steven Spielberg not (again.) or Ellen DeGeneres, who will not make the toaster she recently had a wedding gift.

And Google, you say? And although Google also support the campaign for not. This is the cofounder of the little box that indicated the on the official blog of his company. What is somewhat curious, do we imagine EDF and Dassault Systems to take a position on the legalization of gay marriage in France? Not ... Apparently, California is not France.

Google yet, because I know you like that! You may know that a Google search can be restricted to a certain type of documents. For example, for not looking for "visualization" in PDF documents, you can write " filetype: pdf visualization. What is funny and also quite curious is that you can do a search "filetype" without specifying a keyword ... It's pretty fun with filetpye: html . Note that Google manages the feat of returning a number of results left I do not know where, and even better, order the results returned. By what standard? Note fun with the first page returned is always a link to a classic Anglo-Saxon vieu available on Google Books (but not always the same old classic, it changes according to I do not know what).

I'll let you explore it all and wish you a very happy celebration of German unity, because I know you celebrate German unity.

A curtain, a tank and a piece of wood

Cuckoo

That tells you a little walk between Bad Cannstatt and Stuttgart city center, all in photos and comments with my always pleasant? Of course it tells you ... We will start

with heavy (1.1 tonnes to be precise), the "largest curtain of the world" is currently on the Schlossplatz. I show you immediately what it looks like ...

Un rideau sur la Schlossplatz
is particularly ugly, do not you think? Oh, you're going to say it sounds bad because it was not good when I took the photo. no problem, I'll do the same (well almost the same on the second there are people and we see the Fernsehturm right) with a beautiful sky ble.

Un rideau sur la Schlossplatz
And bam, you see it is still ugly. But a close with perhaps to realize ...

Un rideau sur la Schlossplatz
Yes, so obviously, some explanation of why and how the curtain would be welcome. Luckily, there is a small sign that tells us how this thing ended up red here ...

Explications sur le rideau Explications sur le rideau
So the fault to a gentleman, Henry Schweizer, who loves fabrics (or fabrics), and finds that it is a place everywhere. It was therefore decided, as everyone would have done in his place, to a large curtain of 25 feet high before the new castle in Stuttgart. And everything will be recorded in Guinness Book of course.

A small overview to assess the curtain? Just ask ...

Schlossplatz
As Stuttgarters are not a contradiction, while there is a huge scaffolding and a large curtain that serve no purpose and are not even pretty, it is promoting the Day of energy, explaining everything you can find a big stick.

Bout de bois
One tonne of CO2, though. And 2000 kWh of solar energy. Cool, then? I imagine it will take Sept. 13 to find out.

Small aesthetic transition, I suggest a picture of a golden deer (Not driving) that is installed on the roof ... uh I dunno ... something like Kunstverein, I believe, not far from the curtain.

Cerf doré
As cute ...

And now, the special section "store" of this post strong stitching. To start with the opening hours of a store Königstraße, presented in a way not really compact. " We are open most weekdays from 10am to 20pm. Our schedules are detailed: "and you have the following picture ...

Horaires
I spent last weekend at the windows Fall of Kaufhof, and I promised myself to return to photograph. Is that even if I do not know much about fashion and I know we are always amazed by the creations of fashion designers, I must say I did not know at all that fashionable men this fall was this:

Mode hommes
... or as fashion women was this:

Mode femmes
At least that's consistent and it goes together, you might say. And dressed like that, you can go to Voksfest, which allows me to continue with photos of the installation work of the Volksfest (which should start in three weeks) and it is convenient.

Wasen
Yes, so it's still a bit empty and not necessarily very welcoming ... But we guess the big wheel in the photo. Knowing that she is still 60m high and the gateway must make 4 or 5, do ... Not good I am silent.

What's there on a Wasen starts? Pieces of wood railings ... If you have a house to build, it would probably look the best ...

Balustrades
There are also beer boats without beer ...

Cuve
... yet certified by TÜV.

TÜV approved
Finally ... certified last year. We note that the two blue tank as the picture can contain 2970 liters of beer. At the Maß € 7.90 (= 1 liter, I say to the uneducated, although I doubt there is here), it makes a nice little sum anyway.

There is also a corn not assembled:

Maïs
and stacks of benches and tables, which take strength before having to bear the weight of probably many visitors and unreasonable (five people on a bench, it goes seven, the panel tends to break, especially if they start to skip).

Tables et bancs
Finally, a Wasen under construction is a bit quiet and a landscape of desolation, as described by the moon or Tintin as a filmmaker in search of recognition would probably shoot for his next feature film.

Wasen
Pans toddlers who are here are visible in large corresponding Picasa gallery. You'll find a panoramic Schlossgarten bonus gift.

On this I leave you ...

Stomach Soreness While 8 Months Pregnant

Viewpoints

Cuckoo

A little funny thing seen in Spain yesterday, at a newsagent. The radius Press International, the World , Figaro , Liberation and Le Parisien were side by side. All made their one on the situation in Afghanistan. But each in his own style, rather think (I quote from memory): The World

newspaper purporting to be analytical:
The reasons for the stalemate in Afghanistan

Le Figaro newspaper .. .. how do you say? Right? Liberal? Oh, no, Sarkozyist:
Sarkozy: in Afghanistan, the army is fighting to defend the free world

Le Parisien newspaper rather popular
Upsetting: the bodies of six soldiers killed in Afghanistan returnees

And Liberation , from left:
Should we leave Afghanistan?

Rarely has the right to such a beautiful display of differences between newspapers, so I make you enjoy ...

I note with regret that the idiots of assignees of Hello Dolly, have removed the video from Youtube, so I replaced with a video that will appeal especially germanophones (others may request a translation or explanation if they ): Rainald Grebe speaks of the Stiftung Warentest. But first, it sounds a very interesting opinion on the 90. And reading men and women.

I knew it would please you ... I hope not to have been mangelhaft .

Purple Wreslting Shoes

The detail that kills

Cuckoo

Yesterday I went to see Wall-e , since then I repeat "WaaaAAAAll-eee" every five minutes. I'm pretty bad, my gut tells me that I am less pathetic than the original. The rest of the time I say things like "We have a pool? "Or" Put On Your Sunday Clothes. "Because Wall-E really made me want to watch Hello Dolly ...

Well, it's going better right away after that ...

But you may have noticed a few things that kill, in Wall-e. The first, which is more fun than anything else: when Wall-e restart it does the sound of a Mac ... A small "tuuu" which has nothing really bad. But then there is another far more disturbing details. Unless I am mistaken, Wall-E watches his VHS tape of Hello Dolly with ... an iPod. So I know that Pixar and Apple are the same person to their heads (One Steve), but well, anyway ...

Since you're here I take this opportunity to tell you two funny stuff seen tonight ... I did a tour in WOM ... World Of Music ... You know I'm in a country where they do not know the Fnac (the poor). So what you do with a. .. And what do I see in the ranking of the best selling albums of the moment? Coldplay always well placed, indeed ... but in 14th place ... Who's there? But yes yes it is indeed ... Carla Bruni. Ouch.

And in the tray, then ... what do I see ... Harry Potter 4, the film sold at the price of hardly beatable ... 50 cents. Yes, yes, € 0.50 . I read and reread and checked and rechecked. But again, there was one detail that kills it on VHS. Wall-e could watch it on his iPod, like that.
