BHV're back ... and the climate of 2007?
Negotiators for the "state reform" had left for the end of the review of the record that annoys the most, that of BHV. They tried to clear first all other files in the hope, especially the French, that the (mini) garnered agreements - and therefore the concessions made to the Flemish parties - would make them more flexible to address the issue of BHV otherwise di, a division of the district required from the outset by Flanders. It was the "Di Rupo method.
But this calculation, apparently, does not seem to have paid off. Indeed, the Flemish parties are sticking to their positions and do not want to hear about a widening of the Brussels, in any form whatsoever, in consideration of the demerger. "Outside of the six Commons is nothing !" They say. " What they propose is simply shameful," a trader hammered French, while Flemish says: "All this sounds like what happened in 2007 during the Orange Blue." Hence the title of La Libre today: "We sinking into the swamp."
Francis Van Woestyne in its editorial, said that " options BHV appear again irreconcilable." He writes that curiously " linguistic homogeneity [ethnic in reality is much more than language, ed] going in the opposite of history", while exactly the opposite: all evolution of the Flemish movement since its inception is in line with this homogeneity. With this interesting finding: "Yes, we must save this country. We can accept many things that it stands upright. But not the French out of these negotiations impoverished and deprived of some of their rights ".
Was observed that during all these negotiations, we never talk Walloons, as if there had in this country of the Flemings and Francophones? Both in respect of affiliates that party leaders "speaking" Walloons in the vast majority. Therefore, a question arises: how Brussels and Brussels did they become so important that the Walloons have virtually abdicated their personality and identity ? In the '60s, the leaders of the Walloon Movement, mostly socialist or liberal progressives, shared with federalists in Flemish Renaissance Movement opinion that we should "fix quickly language border and the limits of the Brussels area, so as to put an end to the monstrous growth of the capital at the expense Walloon and Flemish Interest (1) ". If the issue of BHV landed at the time, no doubt the Walloon and Flemish parties would soon come to an agreement ...
Today, only the division of Belgium will meet the Walloons with their identity, dignity and consciousness of constituting a people, a people whose destiny has always been going "in the sense of history" unite the French people brother and flourish in France found.
