Starts And Stops 2 Stroke
Wallonia-Brussels, a pernicious amalgam ?
When the beautiful event held Saturday at Namur by the RWF at the Festival of Wallonia, which brought together nearly 300 activists and supporters attached, you could see many flags flying proudly Walloon and French and joyously in the wind. We clearly heard the demonstrators sing the Marseillaise and amusing detail, it was them and their flags which consitutes the backdrop before which were expressed various personalities of the Belgian system, which Ms. Joëlle Milquet ...
Once again, the Walloon militants had made before them the usual calico RWF bearing the inscription: " Wallonia-Brussels, Regions of France . "This slogan is it really missing? As we have already said, this is a mix between Brussels and Wallonia, although distinct from one another, but combined into one project , the same fate: the meeting in the French Republic.
Far be it from us to regret that follows the Brussels Wallonia in its march towards France, as relatable Walloon can only be welcomed, since it is not a hindrance to their own emancipation from its many differences with Wallonia in the socio-cultural. To say that Brussels is "the third largest French speaking city in the world" is a vision simplistic and superficial. Not only is there still a substrate Flemish noticeable in place names of most of the 19 municipalities, but 36% of Brussels are of foreign origin and are only jabbering French. More than at the time of Jules Destree, Brussels really appears as the "City of the Métis." This is certainly not a reason for it not join France [culturally, Alsace is also not very "French"], but the message conveyed by RWF about it seems dangerous and pernicious.
Why? Because it reinforces in the public, the idea that in any way,
the fate of Wallonia and Brussels are linked, just as was that of Lorraine and Alsace Roman Emperor. And this idea is the basis of the famous "Plan B" of the PS, which postulates the solution rightly regarded by the RWF to be the worst for the "post-Belgium: State Wallonia-Brussels that no find a name nor a capital in it and that would give it a mini-Flanders Belgium without, probably retaining the monarchy and its attributes, all symbols ansi Belgian, and other monuments, which abound in Brussels!
How RWF, but also Mr. Jacques Lenain do they not realize that by combining continuous account Brussels and Wallonia, they shoot themselves in the foot and prepare, involuntarily, not the union of two entities in France, but the advent of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels advocated by the PS?
We would welcome the opinions of our readers about it.
